海辺の老人
2010
C-prints, 25.4×30.5cm
You can often see him walking back and forth on the beach, or at times, picking up the sea shells. He shelters himself in a tent far away from the bustling of city life on a beach of Ishigaki Island, Okinawa, Japan.
For most people, he may be living a homeless life, but how much truth is there in it? He seems to be living inside a space-time surrounded by the abundance of nature, wherein he is at continuous conversation with the vast ocean. Every day, the sun appears on the horizon and in the evening it sinks into the ocean. And, the wave he lives along with comes and goes every day. Similarly, he, the old man, seems to be in a harmony with the Mother Nature.
